A brief history.
I always knew my professional career would be in the arts in some capacity. Growing up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio with a pencil and rapidigraph pen always handy, I studied art at Valley Forge High School, Cleveland Institute of Art, Cooper School of Art and New Horizons Computer School. I began my career as an artist's apprentice for Alan Junkins Studio, working part-time during high school.
After finishing college I worked as a graphic designer for Antenna Specialists in their in-house art department, where I developed from newsletter artist to photographer to art director. In the late 1980s, Antenna Specialists evolved into Allen Telecom which became a worldwide leader in telecommunications. As the manager of a 5 person Creative Services Department, I produced print ads, catalogs, data sheets, P-O-P materials, packaging, trade show graphics, product photography, PowerPoint presentations, etc. and soon we would take on the inception of a variety of websites for 8 divisions including Mikom (Germany), Forem (Italy), Telia (France), Decibel Products (Dallas), Grayson Electronics (DC/VA). In 2003, while Allen Telecom was peaking in the industry, it was purchased by Andrew Corporation for $500,000,000 and my department along with other departments were eliminated due to shared services. I am now freelancing in Harleysville, Pennsylvania.
